How Long Do You Want To Suffer?

Suddenly I heard my mother’s scream. Her scream woke me up from my sleep. I didn’t know what was happening. The screaming and noise from my parent’s bedroom gave me a weird feeling. I was afraid because I realized that my dad was hitting my mother.

The whole night I heard my father hitting my mother. My bedroom was one door away from their bedroom, but I could hear everything loud and clear. I put the pillow over my head to close my ears. I couldn’t bear to listen to the noise anymore. I was 8 years old.

In the morning, my mother opened the door of my bedroom. I saw that her face was covered with bruises and blood in her hair. She didn’t even try to hide her bruises with makeup or something. I was in shock by seeing her face, and the words: 'Mama we have to leave', rolled out of my mouth before I knew it.

That was the moment that my mother decided to leave my dad. We packed our stuff that morning and went to the police station. At the police station, my mother discovered that there were emergency shelters for abused women with children.

Just because I am strong enough to handle the pain, doesn’t mean I deserve it.— Unknown

Long story short, we lived in several shelters in different cities. Eventually, my parents got divorced.

My message to you is that you have a choice. It doesn’t have to be an experience like I mentioned in this article.

In whatever situation you are. If you don’t like it. CHANGE IT!
  1. You don’t like your relationship? Change it!

  2. You don’t like your job? Change it!

  3. You don’t like the place where you live? Change it!

  4. You don’t like your life? Change it!

It is not what happens that determines the major part of your future. What happens, happens to us all. It is what you do about what happens that counts. — Jim Rohn
  • When is it enough?

  • When will you make a change?

  • Why are you waiting so long?

I experience at a young age that the Unknown can hold you back. My mother didn’t know that there were emergency shelters for abused women with children. But because I told my mother to leave, she stepped into the Unknown and stopped suffering.
